Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini is a living legend in the world of boxing. The Youngstown native held the World Boxing Association lightweight belt for two years in the 1980's and has always been extremely accessible and giving to his fans, the community, and the sport of boxing.
After a strong amateur campaign, young Ray made his move to the professional ranks in 1978. "Boom Boom" became a favorite of the television stations early on in his career for his fighting style and charisma, which led to a major following for the majority of his fights. These fans had much to celebrate on May 8, 1982, as Mancini defeated the Champion, Arturo Frias, and claimed the WBA belt.
Mancini has had as much success outside of the ring as he had during his reign in the 80's with his fists. He is an accomplished actor with many films to his credit and owns and operates two movie production companies. He is a fight analyst for Fox's "Celebrity Boxing". "Boom Boom" also owns El Campeon Cigar Company and will be releasing his "Southpaw" red wine this July.
